I was only introduced to the car a week ago and agreed to help sell it on the owners behalf. It was made in 1950 to the basic design used from 1937 when Reliant Motor Co was formed. It has a side valve 747cc engine which was fitted to all Reliants up to and including the Regal MK6. it has been in the same owners hands since 1962 when he bought it from the workmate he'd persuaded to buy it 3 years earlier off the lad living accross the street (he would have bought it in 1957 but didn't have enough cash). On the second page of photos the bottom righthand picture filled in the missing original owner meaning the now present owner now knew all the former keepers. For safety reasons an extra light was added on the front of the van and flashing indecators were added to the roof as many drivers these days have never seen the original type indecators. The owner has been the only person in the last 40 years to do any repairs to the van other than one rear oil seal on the back axle, it has never been without tax or test in the 40 years and was only taken off the road for 3 months when the wooden parts of the van were in the main replaced. The asking price is offers over £4,000-00 (as through waiting he would get this much as it has already been in the offering twice before). It was used as a family van taking mother father and 4 kids away on holidays each year as well as being used daily until the owner purchased a Rialto SE, even then it still had a run out occasionally as the love of driving it didn't lessen with age. Any further questions I will my utmost to answer.
